Episode 229 - Welcome Chezwick - The Fastest Known Time for the Calendar Year Triple Crown

https://slasrpodcast.com/

Welcome to Episode 229 of the Sounds Like a Search and Rescue Podcast. This week we are joined by Nick Gagnon - better known as Chezwick. Chezwick is a long distance thru hiker who just successfully completed a Fastest Known Time for hiking's Triple Crown - completing the Pacific Coast Trail, The Continental Divide and the Appalachian trail in a continuous hike. Hikers train and plan a lifetime to complete these hikes over years. Chezwick completed this 7500 mile thru hike in 231 days, 7 hours, and 33 minutes - breaking the previous record by a few days. He averaged over 32 miles a day every day he was out. He's kind enough to sit down with us to share his story.

Listener on Daily Walks

I am not a hiker but I do like to listen about the stories of those that do. I turn this on when I take my daily walks. It is starting to get me interested in getting in some hiking this summer.
